Multiple Sclerosis

Multiple Sclerosis is a disease indicated by multiple areas of scarring and inflammation of the Myelin within the brain and spinal cord. This scarring and inflammation causes the signals within the brain to become disrupted, which leads to varying degrees of neurological impairment, depending on severity.

It is estimated that approximately 2,000,000 people in the world are living with MS, yet the cause is still unknown. Research studies have found possible links between diet, genetics, and an imbalanced immune system. The long-term prognosis for each patient living with MS varies from individual to individual, and a new drug known as Avonex offers some new hope.
